Our group consists of the entire Anderson family, including husband and
father, Mike, who plays the bass fiddle; Debbie, his wife of 33 years, fiddle;
Celesta, their oldest daughter, guitar; and younger daughter, Angela on
mandolin. We all sing lead and harmony, with
most of our songs being sung in three or four-part harmony. We sing and play
gospel music in a mainly bluegrass style.
We began our music ministry in June of 2000, in a nursing home in Mike’s
hometown of Clinton, Iowa, with just a karaoke machine and background
music. Occasionally, Angela played mandolin, Mike played harmonica, or
Celesta played piano. After about a year of ministering in that way, the Lord
provided other instruments and a teacher for us, so that we could learn to play
all of our own music, in the style that we liked, as a family band.
We have been playing together as our own band since late in 2001, and are
thankful for how God has blessed our efforts and allowed us to minister to
people from all over the country. We play at various Bluegrass, Gospel and other
types of Festivals, Churches, Camp Meetings, State and County Fairs, Benefits,
Weddings, Funerals, Nursing and Retirement Homes, Christmas Programs and
many other special events - wherever the Lord leads and allows us to go. So far,
we’ve sung in 17 different states, and our music is also being played on the
radio in many U.S. cities and in Australia.
In August of 2003, we recorded our first CD entitled, “At Home Again,” and in
March of 2005 we finished our second CD entitled, “Think About The Good
Things.” We will accept donations for the CDs, but do not sell them. The Lord
said, “Freely ye have received, freely give.” We hope to bless, encourage and
challenge others with our music and message.
We just completed our move back to Texas in 2005, and will continue to take
our music wherever the Lord opens the door.
