Here is a group that has its origin deep in the piney woods of East Texas. Although a relatively new group
on the bluegrass scene, its members have roots deep in traditional bluegrass music.
Bill Garner, leader of the group, has been playing bluegrass music since the age of 15 years old. "My
memories, Bill says, goes back to the Sunday gatherings at my grandfather's home where all the family
would enjoy Sunday dinner. Our day would not be complete without the evening spent playing that we all
loved so well". Bill plays mandolin and sings lead and harmony for the group.
Jeanette Garner, Bill's wife, has also been well versed in bluegrass music. Since these two married 13
years ago, Jeanette has not only fallen in love with the music, but now stands proudly with her husband
on stage capturing audiences with her anointed solos. Jeanette skillfully weaves her high harmony
assistance into the very tight vocal team. She also plays a solid bass for the group.
James Garner, Bill's brother, is also a seasoned veteran in bluegrass music. He began playing banjo at the
age of 15 years old. His clear high tenor voice carries a heavy influence from the old mountain sound of
Ralph Stanley. The brothers have sung Ralph and Carter Stanley songs, as well as Bill Monroe's music
for many years. James is also a very gifted song writer. When it comes to singing a solo that will cause a
hush to fall on the crowd, there is no better!
Add a fourth element to this group, Ed Jorgensen, and it takes on an even more dynamic sound. Ed is
certainly no stranger to bluegrass music and pickin' circles in the region. Ed is an outstanding flattop
finger style guitar player, that blends smoothly with this group. Ed began with this group in midsummer
of 2005, bringing with him years of vocal talent. When Ed sings a solo, folks are sure to stop what they
are doing and lend an ear. It does not matter what part you need him to sing, just hand it to him and he
can do it. Ed and Bill also worked together in two previous bluegrass groups.
When you stir all of this together and pour it out, you get HUDSON SWITCH wherever they go, they are
sure to stir up bluegrass music fans of all ages. And they love to hear the crowd holler "More! More!
More!". All the member of this group are Christian people, and they give the Lord Jesus Christ praise for
