1/8/2008 Happy New Year to each and every one of you. I am sorry that it has
taken me this long to get some things updated. The slow phone lines at home
are still a major problem. Make sure you check out our newly updated 2008
schedule. Mark your calendars for both Sandyland and Sacul.

  • Gus is still in Iraq. He is scheduled to return home on January 15th. He
continues to enjoy his life in the military and signed up for another 5 year
tour of duty. Whether you believe in the war or not..............please keep our
    troops in your prayers.

  • Joyce Matlock and I enjoyed a great cruise to the Yucatan this past August.
We couldn't get Cowboy and JB to get out of the site of land and go with
us..............but we didn't complain too much. It was enjoyable just to have a
    girl's week out.

  •  Our annual trip to Nashville and the IBMA festivities were awesome.
Check out the website for highlights.

  • We have lost several loyal bluegrass family members in the past months.
Keep their families in your prayers.

  • Cowboy and I also lost a loyal friend recently. Our dear old dog, Kitt. He
was always there to greet the campers and make sure things were done
right around the farm. He lead a good life, but old age finally caught up
with him. Not that he could be replaced, but we have a puppy in training.
His name is Chip. Kallie is trying to keep him in line.........but she had an
unfortunate mishap with the buffalo and is now nursing a broken leg...we
hope she is on the mend and can be back to her playful self soon.

  • The holidays went well..............eating a bit too much, but enjoying every
minute of it. Always fun to spend time with family and friends.

  • Keep checking back from time to time, I hope to keep our website more
    updated this year.

  • If you are on our mailing list, you should have received our information
    for the upcoming May Reunion.

  • We finally broke down and invested in a satellite internet connection.
With this added speed I plan to keep a better handle on our website
    updates.

  • The cabin building is in full construction mode. We are working on the
4th one now. In the very near future we hope to offer rental packages to
folks needing a place to crash. Keep checking back for progress and
    availability.

  • Take care and hope to see ya at Sandyland -SB

  • Wow! What a weekend. The price of gas didn't put a damper on this bunch.
Couldn't have asked for a better turnout. Just the right size to enable us to enjoy
the festivities. Remember we work a skeleton crew around here.

  • The weather was so nice, the music was great and the fellowship was priceless.
THANKS TO ALL THE BANDS,  JAMMERS, AND ALL THAT ARE ALWAYS
    WILLING TO LEND A HAND.

  • Happy Birthday to Tim Blake. Turned the Big 5-0 on Thursday during the
potluck supper. He thought he was going to get off without a hassle, but brother
Bruce had let us in on the date and we were ready for him.............pink cake,
party girl, and all!  A little bird also told us that Barbara Whitehead has a
birthday this month. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BARBARA........AND ANYONE
    ELSE THAT WE MISSED

  • A big thanks to Mike Crow for doing whatever it takes to make the show.
Whether it's buckteeth, pop-eyes, or fishnet stockings.............just say the word
and Mike's ready.  Digger Davis too...where on earth do you guys get some of
the things you have in your wardrobes???

  • Keep checking back, I plan to add things from time to time. -SB
