Sacul Bluegrass Opry
Sacul, Texas is a sleepy little
town that comes alive with the
sound of Bluegrass Music on
every 4th Saturday of each
month. The Sacul Bluegrass
Opry is owned by Novis White
("mayor") and Kenneth Garner.
Housed in a historic 102 year
old store building, Sacul
Bluegrass Opry has been
featured in various publications,
from Texas Highways to the
Reader's Digest.
Cowboy & Ms. Novis at Sacul Opry
Sacul is located on Hwy 204
between Cushing, Texas and
Jacksonville, Texas. Shows
start at 6:30 pm.
Novis & Kenneth
Cowboy and Sara Barrett provide the MC
work and sound for each show. Shows
are free to the public, with a donation
taken for the upkeep of the building. 4 to
6 bluegrass, old-time country, and/or
gospel bands perform each month, to a
usually packed house.
Tim Alexander of Tim's
Grocery, offers an "ALL
YOU CAN EAT" catfish
buffet on each Friday
night and Saturday night
of the Opry...Hmm,Hmm,
good!
